Sharing pictures and videos on social platforms has become easier than sharing a pen with your classmate because you only have one. But literally, now as soon as you buy a new car, the whole world knows about it. In fact, it’s possible now for you to be the last person on earth to see the face of your new-born baby when your wife has already shared it from the operation theatre. But while some pictures do not need any introduction or explanation, in many cases they’re pointless or have lots of meaning until and unless you clear the air. Suppose you went on a trip with friends. Now you’re sending those pictures to your parents. They’ll certainly get to see the photos but if you had been present with them, you’d have told them the “back-camera” stories with every picture as well, right? So why don’t you?

I am talking about the latest iOS app called Pingz that has been developed by Jigsaw Informatics. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5 as well.

Pingz is a very intuitive, easy to use app that allows you to create and record short videos out of images and your own sound. It’s like a slideshow of 30 seconds narrated by you. But there’s much more than that! Thanks to their patent-pending Zoom and Tap (ZAP) technology, you can tap on the images and zoom in to make it even clearer and show the otherwise unrecognizable parts of the image. One more thing that you can do is use the live markers and point them on a specific person/object you want to target in the photo. This tool comes pretty handy in case of presentations when there are say 6 products in the same image and you’re describing them one by one.

I don’t know how many times I have used the “movie-maker” Software that comes pre-installed in my laptop. Maybe never! And the only reason for that is because I find it too complex and difficult to use. It’s not a one-step process to use it and that’s what prevents me to even start-off. This is the USP of Pingz. Just pick your photos and start recording while you’re swiping through the pictures. You can zoom-in as usual or use live pointers. It’s as natural as it sounds and so you can narrate freely as well. Otherwise, you’d be so busy with the controls that you’d have to use a written note for the “talking part” which takes the entire “fun quotient” out of it. But thankfully, that’s not the case here!

After creating videos, you can share them via email, text message, YouTube, Facebook and many more social platforms. So what are you waiting for! Stop Texting! Start “Mic Testing”!

Pingz is available for free in the App Store. However, in-app purchases allow up to 9 images and 90 seconds of video recording.

Pros: user-friendly; zoom-in(ZAP); live pointer; record while you swipe through photos; good for presentations; free.

Cons: none.
